Hi! I’m Courtney, a senior at the University of Tampa working towards my Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in painting. You can find me in my studio experimenting with mediums such as beer, spray paint, liquid copper, pennies, and other found materials. Experimental painting is a big influence on my current body of work. The curriculum constantly pushes me to think outside of the box, and explore an array of different materials. Lately, my current work revolves around oil painting the human figure and combining the bodies with designer brands and logos. This combination alludes to my senior thesis which explores social class and the concept of privilege versus poverty. This year I have become an apprentice to a local mural artist and have been learning the craft of large scale murals and the in and outs of being a full time artist. Art is something that I am constantly studying, practicing and is a huge part of my life. I think it is important to stick with your passion and when it is combined with hard work, extraordinary things can happen.
